Increasing world population and increasing income increases egg consumption. World egg production reached 74 million tons with an increase of 18% compared to 10 years ago in 2018. Based on these data, it can be said that the consumption of egg tray will increase in the coming period. In particular, the demand for cardboard egg tray will increase due to the importance of sustainable production and low cost.

Egg Tray Paper

Waste paper (93%) mixes with paraffin (3%), aluminum sulfate (3%) and paint (1%), and egg tray pulp becomes. The molds in the forming machines shape this mixture and the product comes out.

The pulp is prepared with water. About 5 tons of water is required for a ton of paper raw materials. 80% of the water decomposes during pressing and is used again. In other words, the net amount of water used for a ton of paper is 1 ton.

We can use a sieving machine to separate other wastes mixed between waste papers. Egg tray weight affects use in packaging machines. Low weight products can stick to the egg packing machine.

How To Make Egg Tray?

  • The raw material waste paper is first thrown into the dough pool.
  • The waste paper is melted with water by the mixing process.
  • Aluminum sulfate and paraffin are added to color and prevent water retention.
  • By adjusting the density, the pulp is conveyed using pipes and comes to the forming machine.
  • Molds are moving in the form of tape and egg trays are done by the cylinder pressing process.
  • Wet egg trays come to the drying oven.
  • In the drying oven, the dried vials are packed and shipped.
